Annual Report: 2017 -18

 

Honourable Chief Guest ______ ________________________________   distinguished guests, parents, staff and my dear students.

 

Indeed it is my pleasure and privilege to accord a splendid welcome to one and all to this Annual Day Celebrations of our Vidyalaya -2017.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan through its admission policy, hassle free transfer of students across the Vidyalayas of the country, common syllabus, staffing pattern, and other administrative dimensions complies to all the constitutional obligations towards the citizens, and also continue to be one of the best service providers of our nation.

 

Ø “The destiny of a Nation is folded within its budding youth as is flower within the close embrace of the petals. That is, what our youth thinks today, the Nation will think tomorrow.” –Dr. Annie Besant.

Ladies and Gentlemen, and children, with a sense of humility and pride let me present before you the report of the major activities of the Vidyalaya. I sincerely wish that this report be a critical analysis of the relevance of this institution in molding the children to be contributing citizens.

 

Ø ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

The major yardstick to judge an educational institution is the academic excellence and other attainments of the students.

In both the X & XII Board Examinations the performance of the Vidyalaya was meritorious.

In class X, The Pass Percentage was 100% with 23 students of our Vidyalaya achieving CGPA OF 10. Acknowledging their excellent performance, all these 23 students will be receiving a cash award of Rs. 5000/- each from KVS and merit certificate from CBSE.

In Class XII, the pass percentage was 97.09% with the the remarkable high qualitative performance. Maintaining the tradition of excellence, we have school toppers:

Vishwas Modhara with 95.20% in Science stream

Radhika Lakhotia with 92.80% in Commerce stream,  and

Anushka Dutta with 94% in Arts stream

 

It is a matter of pride for all of us that most of the students passed out of class XII got admissions to professional courses in institute of repute.      

The Internal Examination result was also good. The overall pass percentage was 97.82%.

Participation in Competitions held outside the Vidyalaya.

          Maximum numbers of students were encouraged and focused care was given to participate in various competitions.

Ø National Science Congress : the theme for this year was Science, Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Development. 8 projects were presented by the Vidyalaya at the regional level held at K.V.SAC Ahmedabad.

Ø Jawaharlal Nehru Science Exhibition will be organized in January 2018.

Ø 72 students participated in National Science Olympiad. 6 students won Gold medals, 6 students won Silver medals and 6 students won Bronze medals.

Ø In International Maths Olympiad, 176 students participated, from them 10 students bagged Gold medals, 10 students bagged Silver medals and 10 students won Bronze medals.

Ø There were 30 students participated in National Talent Search Examination and 18 students participated in JMO.

Ø  There were 78 students participated in International English Olympiad in 2017.

 

IN SOCIAL SCIENCE

 

The school organized social science and National Integration camp at the Vidyalaya level as well as participated in Cluster level held at K V ONGC

Baroda. In Cluster level competition, our Vidyalaya achieved 1st position in Social Science Exhibition and 2 students are selected for Regional level. The Vidyalaya achieved 1st and 2nd position in Solo dance and 2nd position in Quiz competition. Ku. Susmita Barik in Solo dance is selected for Regional Level.

 

In Sports & Games:

Ø 18 students of our Vidyalaya participated in different games in KVS Regional meet.

Ø 10 students of our Vidyalaya were selected and 7 students participated  in KVS National sports Meet 2017 in which 1 student bagged Gold medal with Rs. 10000/- cash award and 1 student bagged Bronze medal with Rs. 5000/- cash award.

 

Regular Activities

Along with the academics, a well tailored format of Co-curricular, sports and games activities was followed regularly to enhance the talents and build confidence among the students.

Ø Various literary and fine arts competitions were conducted regularly under CCA programs provided a right forum for the students to bring out their talent skills. A large number of students participated in Drawing and Painting competitions organized by F.M.Radio, Bank of Baroda, Axis Bank on various themes.

Ø Hindi Pakhwada and its various activities were organized in our Vidyalaya in which students and teachers participated with full enthusiasm and zeal. Some programmes were poem recitation, Speech, Debate etc.

Ø Vigilence Awareness Week was celebrated organizing various competitions by the Vidyalaya and different organizations such as SBI, Indian Oil.

Ø Vidyalaya organized various Sports and Games activities ensuring mass participation of the students.

Ø The scouts and Guides activities were conducted to imbibe the spirit of discipline and service among the students. 3 Scouts and 4 Guides received Rajya Purarkar for 2016-17. And 2 scouts have been selected for Rashtrapati Puraskar Testing Camp.

Ø All the National Festivals and all other important days were observed befittingly to inculcate National pride and patriotism among the students.

Ø Under NAEP special sessions were organized to deal with adolescent issues and problems in a healthy way.

Ø Yoga was a regular feature of morning assembly.

 

I take this opportunity to express sincere gratitude to the honorable Chairman for his magnanimous care and concern for the Vidyalaya activities and other project functionaries for their Guidance and Affirmative actions which abundantly helped for the smooth functioning of this Vidyalaya. We also received exemplary guidance and support from the VMC, PTA and from the parents which all contributed for the benefit of our students.

Let me conclude this report with a determination, to dedicate ourselves to serve the dream and aspirations of our students. With all fervour and respect, once again, I welcome the Chief Guest, other dignitaries and distinguished guests, parents and one and all for their presence.
