Kendriya vidyalaya Sangathan, with its headquarter based in New Delhi, is an autonomous body fully financed by Govt. of India and run under the ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India. It was established in 1962 on the recommendation of II C.P.C. with a view to catering the educational needs of the children to transferable Central Govt. employees including Defense and Para-Military personnel, by providing a common syllabus and Kendriya Vidyalaya came into existence., The school is affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi and is miniature India in itself with students from different Socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. It inculcates among the students the feeling of brotherhood has been given the privilege of being one of the SMART Schools of IndiaAt present it has nearly 1500 Kendriya. Vidyalayas including three other Kendriya vidyalayas abroad-one in Kathmandu (Nepal) and other in Moscow (Russia). It has 25 regional Offices, with Ahmedabad Region having its Regional Office at Sector 30, Gandhinagar (Gujarat).
